About this Position

The Operations Technician provides professional and technical expertise to support enterprise technology services, ensuring alignment with OSU/A&M System goals, compliance requirements, and departmental priorities. This position is responsible for performing specialized operational, technical, or analytical tasks within the assigned domain.

The Operations Technician provides 24x7 operational support for data center facilities, IT infrastructure, and supported services. This role performs hands-on duties including monitoring systems, responding to alerts and outages, conducting rounds and inspections, assisting with hardware installation and maintenance, and maintaining accurate operational documentation. The Operations Technician adheres to standard operating procedures (SOPs) to maintain safe, secure, and reliable data center operations.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    Valid driver's license.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's

    Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.

  • Six or more months of experience in IT support, help desk, or data center operations.

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    CompTIA ITF+ or CompTIA A+.

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
    • Strong documentation and communication skills.
    • Critical thinking and customer service attitude.
    • Ability to work well under stressful conditions.
    • Basic knowledge of data center environments, monitoring tools, and ticketing systems.
