$22.11 - $24.82, Hourly

About this Position

This position reports to the Director of Grants and Contracts Pre-Award Administration in the office of Research. This position will provide pre-award support and assistance to faculty in the development, review, and submission of all federal, state, and private grant and contract applications and other external funding opportunities. This position will support the pre-award operations and assist with the grant hand-off to post-award grant operations.

Travel required: Various OSU campuses and conferences.  

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

Three years of experience in sponsored programs administration or another closely related field, such as: grants, contracts, federal and non-federal sponsors/agencies; program, budgetary, regulatory, or compliance monitoring. Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience. 

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
  • Valid Driver's License 

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Utilizing standardized resources and tools, including budget templates, checklists, databases, shared files, etc. Managing timelines and the overall progression of submission to ensure the on-time completion/submission of high quality, responsive, and compliant proposal applications. 

  • Compiling all components of each grant submission and ensure that the proposal is formatted, packaged, and submitted in accordance with granting agency requirements. 

  • Review, correct and/or suggest updates to grant budgets and budget justifications based on the project aims and RFA technical content requirements in full compliance with sponsor and university policies.  Again, not too comfortable with our team preparing right now.  

  • Engaging outside collaborators to establish subcontracts in addition to receiving and/or creating, reviewing, and processing drafts of various types of contracts, agreements, and other legally binding documents through to fully executed. 

  • Responding to RFAs and summary statements and address issues prior to submission 

  • Tracking the status of pending applications, follow up with investigator regarding review/funding status of application.  

  • Continuously developing and maintaining a strong working knowledge of federal rules and regulations that govern research grants. 

  • Staying informed about sponsor terms and conditions for submitting and administering grant awards 

  • Assisting faculty with maintaining detailed up-to-date grant submission documents, including bio-sketches, collaborators, and other support 

  • Preparing summary reports of grant application submissions and outcomes 

  • Communicate policies and procedures to faculty and staff 

  • Anticipates and supports departmental needs and solves problems 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Cayuse. Designation of Certified Research Administrator (CRA), Certified Pre-Award Administrator (CPRA), or Certified Financial Research Administrator (CFRA)
