About this Position

The Director of Graduate Admissions provides strategic leadership, operational oversight, and data-informed direction for all graduate admissions functions within the Graduate College. Reporting to the Dean of the Graduate College, the Director leads graduate admissions operations, enrollment systems management, application processing, policy administration, and staff supervision to support the University’s graduate enrollment goals and institutional mission.

The Director is responsible for developing and implementing efficient admissions processes, ensuring compliance with institutional, state, federal, and accreditation regulations, and enhancing the graduate student experience from inquiry through enrollment. This position collaborates extensively with academic departments, Enrollment Management, International Student Services, Information Technology, Institutional Research, and other campus stakeholders to improve admissions practices, data integrity, communication strategies, and enrollment outcomes.

The Director serves as the primary authority for graduate admissions operations, domestic and international admissions review processes, and graduate admissions systems including SLATE and Banner. The position also supports strategic recruitment initiatives designed to attract, enroll, and retain a diverse and academically qualified graduate student population.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's

    Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Minimum of three (3) years of progressively responsible professional experience in admissions, enrollment management, higher education administration, or a related field.

    Supervisory or management experience.

    Experience working with student information systems and admissions technologies.

    Demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data to support strategic decision-making.

    Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and organizational communication skills.

    Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

    Commitment to excellent customer service and student support.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

Master’s degree in Higher Education Administration, Educational Leadership, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Five (5) or more years of leadership experience in graduate admissions, enrollment management, or higher education administration.

Experience working with Ellucian Banner, SLATE CRM, or similar enterprise systems.

Knowledge of domestic and international graduate admissions processes and compliance requirements.

Experience with admissions analytics, reporting tools, and data visualization platforms.

Knowledge of graduate admissions operations, enrollment management practices, and higher education regulations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-informed decisions.

Proficiency in database management, reporting systems, and CRM technologies.

Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Strong leadership, team-building, and personnel management skills.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students, and external partners.

Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and student success.

Experience leading process improvement or technology implementation initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications
