$24.00 - $30.00 / hourly

About this Position

This position is responsible for performing maintenance, inspection, and repair of university-owned aircraft in support of the FAA Part 141 flight training program. The A&P Mechanic ensures all aircraft are maintained in accordance with applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations and manufacturer specifications to support safe and efficient flight operations. 

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Knowledge of FAA regulations and general aviation maintenance practices.

Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.

Attention to detail and commitment to safety.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Organizational and time management abilities.

Basic computer proficiency.

 Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's Aviation Maintenance Technology or related field.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of general aviation maintenance experience.

    · Experience with piston-powered training aircraft (e.g., Cessna, Piper, Cirrus).

    · Experience in a Part 141 or Part 145 environment.

    · Familiarity with computerized maintenance tracking systems.
