About this Position
The Assistant Professor (tenure track) and Program Coordinator Position for the Undergraduate Rehabilitation Services Program (Integrated Human Services Program) in the Department of Rehabilitation and Disability Studies is responsible for providing administrative, programmatic, and operational support to ensure the efficient functioning and development of the unit. This role serves as a key liaison between faculty, students, and administrative units, and supports the department’s mission of advancing education, research, and service in the field of rehabilitation and disability studies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate daily operations of the undergraduate academic program, including course scheduling, student recruitment, registration processes, and faculty assignments.
- Teach courses, conduct a scholarly line of research and grantsmanship, and provide service to the professional rehabilitation counseling and university communities.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for current and prospective students regarding program requirements, admissions, advising, and graduation processes.
- Assist with program assessment and accreditation activities, including data collection, reporting, and compliance with institutional and external standards.
- Support faculty and program leadership with curriculum development and implementation.
- Organize program/department meetings, student orientations, special events, and community outreach initiatives.
- Manage program/department communications, including newsletters, social media, and website content.
- Track and manage program budgets and grant-related activities.
- Maintain and update student records, course files, and departmental databases in accordance with institutional policies.
- Collaborate with offices such as admissions, registrar, financial aid, disability services, and career services to enhance student success.
- Assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new faculty, staff, and adjunct instructors.
Required Qualifications
- Master's
- Rehabilitation Counseling, Disability Studies, Higher Education Administration, or a related field (e.g., Doctoral Student in CACREP accredited Program or ABD).
- At least 2 years of experience in higher education, academic program coordination, or a related administrative role.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, database systems).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a diverse academic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D./Ed.D.
- Counselor Education from a CACREP-accredited program.
- Two or more years of direct service experience in rehabilitation counseling or human service area.
- Experience with academic advising and student support services.
- Familiarity with accreditation standards (e.g., CACREP, CORE, or related bodies).
