School of Education & Professional Programs
This position serves as both a faculty member and the academic and administrative head of the department. The Chair role is a distinct, separate appointment from the faculty rank. The successful candidate must be a collaborative and strategic leader with the ability to work effectively across schools and departments. The Chair will lead accreditation efforts, support program development, and drive student success initiatives aligned with the university's mission and strategic priorities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

Advise and mentor students.

Support and engage with student organizations.

Maintain regular on-campus presence for instruction, meetings, and university events.

Lead the department’s accreditation and certification efforts, including coordinating data collection and compliance processes.

Collaborate with faculty and leadership to advance the mission, vision, and goals of the School.

Contribute to faculty development and recruitment/retention strategies.

Perform additional duties as assigned to support departmental and institutional success.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D./Ed.D.
- In a related field.

Demonstrated P-12 teaching or administrative experience in a school setting.

Experience with online or hybrid instruction.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
- Valid certification in Elementary Education, Special Education, and/or as a Reading Specialist.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Strong interpersonal communication skills and ability to work with diverse populations.

Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills.
