About this Position

Oklahoma State University is looking for a performance dietitian to join the Sports Nutrition Department to assist in providing sports with high-quality care. In this role, you will work directly with athletes, coaches, and support staff to identify and meet nutritional needs to optimize athlete health and performance. This role will report directly to the Director of Sports Nutrition.

Key functions include:

  • Provide current evidence-based nutrition counseling and education to individual student-athletes and teams, as assigned
  • Develop sports nutrition programming for education & intervention
  • Plan, implement, evaluate, and manage nutrition services provided to student-athletes
  • Collaborate with sport coaches, strength coaches, sports medicine, and operations staff
  • Coordinate with Cowboy Dining, the athletic department dining hall

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's

    Nutrition or related field

    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Two years of experience in the sports nutrition setting

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, RD Eligible could be considered; Licensed as a Dietitian in Oklahoma, or to be completed upon hiring; Sexual Harassment Training, Minor's Training, CPR and AED Certification to be completed within 90 days of hire

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    Excellent interpersonal skills; Strong written and verbal communication skills; Ability to work well independently & as a member of interdisciplinary teams; Ability to develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services; Experience with one-on-one nutrition counseling and group education; Gathering and assessing body composition data (past Cosmed BodPod usage preferred); Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's
  • Two or more years of experience as a dietitian in the elite, professional, or collegiate sports setting

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    Experience counseling athletes with disordered eating/eating disorders preferred; Basketball knowledge and experience working with basketball players preferred; Experience using Teamworks suite products preferred; Social media management and content creation is a plus
