Job Summary

The School of Materials, Mechatronics and Manufacturing Engineering in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology at Oklahoma State University is pleased to invite applications for a career-track faculty position of Assistant/Associate/Professor of Professional Practice in Mechanical Engineering Technology. Candidates with industrial experience and a desire to teach students are encouraged to apply.

This is a non-tenure track appointment with an emphasis on classroom and hands-on laboratory instruction.  The applicant should have the ability to teach some of the following undergraduate and graduate courses: Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances, Technical Drawing and Basic CAD, Hydraulic Fluid Power, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, Machine Elements, Manufacturing Processes, Finite Element Methods, etc. Individuals with training and skills that complement and augment existing faculty expertise and have an interest in collaborative work are preferred. Positions will be located at the OSU Stillwater campus in the Engineering North building.

Oklahoma State University is a comprehensive land grant university with over 24,000 students on its main campus. The university has a strong national presence in interdisciplinary programs including unmanned aircraft systems with strong industry and government ties. The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering is the largest engineering program in the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT) and one of the largest departments in the university.

The School of Materials, Mechatronics and Manufacturing Engineering (MMME) houses four academic programs:  Materials Science and Engineering (MSE), Mechatronics and Robotics (MERO), Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) and Electrical Engineering Technology (EET) within the College of Engineering, Architecture and Technology (CEAT). With more than 225 undergraduates and 30 graduate students, MMME fosters collaborative and interdisciplinary research in the strategic areas of Materials Science, Mechatronics, Robotics and Manufacturing and a hands-on approach to instruction.

Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D. or M.S. degree in a field related to Mechanical Engineering Technology or Mechanical Engineering is required along with excellent communication and organizational skills suitable for teaching undergraduate and graduate students is required. Industrial experience is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Professional registration, teaching and research experience at the university level, and three years of industry experience are preferred.
