About this Position

The School of Accounting (SOA) within the Spears School of Business (SSB) at the Oklahoma State University invites applications for one tenure track Faculty Position in Accounting at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor level starting August 2027 at our main campus in Stillwater. This position is benefits eligible. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and contingent on available funding. Appropriate background checks (e.g. criminal background and credential checks) will be conducted.

JOB DESCRIPTION: All candidates must have and maintain qualifications for AACSB accreditation by conducting and publishing scholarly research, attending professional conferences and workshops, providing editorial service, etc. The primary responsibilities for this position include research, teaching, and engaging in service activities for the School of Accounting, the Spears School of Business, and the academic discipline. Audit-focused candidates are preferred as primary teaching responsibilities will be in Audit courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An earned doctorate in accounting or strong evidence that the doctoral degree will be completed before August 1, 2027. Candidates must be able to teach successfully at the undergraduate and master’s levels. Candidates must be academically qualified upon the start date and must maintain qualifications.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Significant professional and/or teaching experience in Audit is desirable with evidence of successful teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level. For an experienced Assistant or Associate Professor, we are especially interested in candidates who have a publishing record in top academic accounting journals, who indicate an interest in and ability to work with PhD students, and who will continue to produce research of excellent quality that will have a high impact on the field. For an Assistant Professor, evidence of the ability to progress toward these goals is preferred.
