About this Position

The School of Marketing and International Business (SMIB) in the Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a Professor of Professional Practice position, anticipated to begin in August 2026. Applicants at all ranks will be considered. SMIB faculty are located on both the Stillwater and Tulsa campuses; this position will be based on the Stillwater campus. The standard teaching load is seven sections per academic year (Fall and Spring semesters). Salary is contingent on available funding.

The Department: The School of Marketing and International Business places a strong emphasis on scholarly research, high-quality instruction, and meaningful engagement with external stakeholders. Professors of Professional Practice focus primarily on teaching and outreach. The department includes more than 20 faculty members across both tenure-track and professional practice roles and provides academic leadership in marketing and international business. SMIB serves over 1,600 undergraduate majors and offers a dynamic and growing academic environment. The successful candidate will teach primarily at the undergraduate level, with the potential to contribute to graduate instruction based on qualifications and program needs.

The Faculty Position: SMIB seeks a dynamic and entrepreneurial leader to advance and expand its supply chain management program. This is a high-priority strategic initiative for the department and college. Responsibilities will include leading program development and growth; overseeing curriculum design; attracting and advising students; engaging internal stakeholders across Oklahoma State University; building and maintaining relationships with industry partners; and securing external support to sustain and enhance program activities.

The position will involve teaching undergraduate courses in supply chain management, with the opportunity to develop and teach graduate-level courses as the program evolves. Applicants must hold at least a relevant M.S. degree (Ph.D. preferred), possess a minimum of five years of recent, relevant industry experience, and demonstrate a record of teaching excellence or strong potential for excellence in the classroom. All candidates must meet and maintain AACSB faculty qualification standards.
