About this Position
Serve students in the Spears School of Business by providing quality academic advising experiences that support personal, professional, and academic goals, major selection, and course selection.
Maintain ongoing focus on student success, retention, persistence, and graduation for advisees.
Demonstrate initiative and provide proactive outreach by contacting advisees regarding academic difficulties, attendance, missed enrollment dates, scholarship opportunities, major choice, etc.
Assist with special projects such as Cowboy Welcome, special academic and/or recruitment programs, commencement, etc.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Academic Advisor I - $3,333/mo-$3.750/mo. -- B.S. and 0-2 yrs. experience
Academic Advisor II - $3,667/mo-$4,083/mo. -- B.S. and 1-3 yrs experience
Academic Advisor III - $3,917/mo-$4,250/mo. -- M.S. and 1-3 yrs experience
Senior Academic Advisor I - $4,083/mo.-$4,583/mo. -- M.S. and 3+ yrs experience
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Proficient in computer skills. Will be required to utilize Student Information System and other university computer programs to assist with student enrollment and advisement processes. Must be service oriented and able to work with a diverse group of faculty, staff, students, and the general public in a fast-paced environment with many interruptions.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's
Social Sciences, Education, Counseling, Business
Four years of related experience.
