About this Position

Located at the Oklahoma State University College of Osteopathic Medicine at the Cherokee Nation, Tahlequah, OK.

The Wellness Coordinator at Oklahoma State University College of Medicine – Cherokee Nation (OSUCOM-CN) is responsible for implementing a total wellness program for the CHS-CN community, including students, staff, faculty, and residents located in the Tahlequah area.  This position also oversees the direct operations of the campus fitness center and intramural sports program.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's
    • Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, or other health related field. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
    • Ability to inspire and motivate individuals to healthier living choices.
    • Ability to work independently and supervise a team of employees.
    • Computer and fiscal management skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's
    • Health Promotion, Health Education, Public Health, or other health related field
    • Three (3) or more years of experience working in higher education as a health education and promotion professional.
    • Involvement in planning, promoting, and administering a variety of health education and promotion programs on a college campus.
    • Experience in developing, teaching, and presenting wellness related classes and workshops.
  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
    • Certified as a Health Education Specialist (CHES) or nationally recognized Wellness Certification.
