About this Position

The Department of Economics in Spears School of Business at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Assistant Professor position, beginning in the fall of 2026. We welcome applications from candidates working in all areas of economics.  The position, which is located on the OSU-Stillwater campus, is designed for eight 3-credit hour sections per year.

Successful candidates will be able to teach a variety of courses including Principle of Microeconomics, Principle of Macroeconomics, and Money and Banking for the Economics Department’s undergraduate program and will have demonstrated experience in the classroom.  Additional responsibilities will include service to the department.

As a R1 research university, the Department offers Ph.D., M.S., B.S., and B.A. programs in Economics. Successful candidates are expected to demonstrate a commitment to inclusive excellence in education through their scholarship, teaching, and/or service.

Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Economics completed by the start date of the appointment. H1-B sponsorship is not available for this position. International candidates may be hired if they are eligible for Optional Practical Training (OPT) for the 2026/2027 Academic Year.  Desirable candidates should be excellent teachers, committed to student engagement, and be open to and be able to teach a wide range of courses using the latest technology.  The successful candidate will be collegial and committed to creating a welcoming environment for students.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications.  This position is contingent on available funding.
