The New Product Development Center (NPDC), an engineering extension unit of the College of Engineering, Architecture, and Technology at Oklahoma State University, provides Oklahoma manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and inventors with university-based research teams to develop and commercialize product concepts. These efforts may include evaluating the characteristics of existing products, establishing the status of technology, evaluating the business and financial implications of new product implementation, developing new products, updating a current product to lead the market, integrating new technology or broadening market shares with new product features.
This position works with all NPDC staff to complete multi-disciplinary projects, engages cross-campus resources, develops effective relationships with stakeholders, and liaises with state and federal agencies to ensure the long-term success of the NPDC. The Senior Administrative Support Specialist will assist the Director, Associate Director and NPDC staff in developing office policy, program processes and issues as identified. The Senior Administrative Support Specialist will assist with development, planning, budgeting, promotion, execution and evaluation of the NPDC's grant and industry-funded programs. Further, the Senior Administrative Support Specialist will provide day-to-day operational administrative support, including financial reconciliation of funds, purchasing, travel, and human resources needs.
Position is contingent upon continuation of grant funding.
Three years of work experience. Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience.
Problem solving, analytical skills, public relations skills, project coordination, event coordination
Any related field as determined by department
One year of experience in project and program coordination activities, including, but not limited to assisting with development, planning, budgeting, promotion, execution and evaluation of ongoing and potential programs; experience with financial systems and processes; experience in coordinating public relations and communications activities; experience with providing administrative support in a team environment.
Experience with grant proposal development and budgeting. Experience working with undergraduate students and youth in an informal education setting.
