Oklahoma State University is seeking an accomplished professional to serve as the Research Security and Secure Enclave Specialist. The person in this position is responsible for reviewing and interpreting complex government regulations on research security and export controls, the ongoing installation, configuration, deployment, and documentation of software applications leveraged within the secure enclave. This position will also work to develop security baseline configurations for software applications within the secure enclave , leverage Microsoft Intune and Company Portal for the configuration and deployment of software applications in the secure enclave. Finally, this position will work to manage, mitigate, track, and report on vulnerabilities that may impact the secure enclave.
Technical Support (40%)
Provides first level of support to RISE customers
Sets up and configures user accounts, workstations, and software applications as directed
Logs, tracks, and routes incident tickets as necessary
Responsible for the setup and configuration of software applications within RISE by leveraging Microsoft Intune and Company Portal
Will work to remediate vulnerabilities within software applications through the deployment of updates, patches, new software, or configuration changes.
Participates in 3rd party assessments and inspections
Technical Writing (30%)
Develops, documents, and executes incident response and eradication procedures
Works to build security baseline configurations for each software application
Assist in implementing NIST 800-171 controls and the ongoing improvement of existing controls
Generate Security Alert and Advisory Reports, Software Vulnerabilities Reports, and door access reports for the RISE Technical team to review.

Research Security (30%)
Stay up to date on current with EAR and ITAR regulations
Assist with the implementation and maintenance of Technology Control Plans
Provides support for restricted party screening questions or issues
Research and analyze technical parameters of a product or technology for research security and export controls
Conduct document reviews to determine whether information falls under the export control and/or research security regulations
Prepare licenses and develop processes after determining the export control classifications
File U.S. CBP Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system requests
Perform internal assessments of export and import procedures
Assists with ensuring the maligned foreign talent program list is updated regularly
Assist with the distribution of travel laptops and equipment as necessary
Keep updated with current research security requirements

Works to configure software into Microsoft Company Portal for customer installation and usage.
Assists with the implementation of NIST 800-171 controls

Review security alerts and advisories; assist with remediation efforts to address alerts and advisories
Review software vulnerabilities and prepare an implementation plan to remediate vulnerabilities

Works to remediate flaws in a timely manner
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's
Computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, engineering, or related field.
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Two (2) years scripting or programming experience required.
Exposure and familiarity with to Research Security and Export Control environment.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
This position includes access to technology that is subject to US Export Controls and research security. Any job offer made will be contingent upon the applicant’s capacity to serve in compliance with US Export Controls and research security laws and regulations.
Ability to obtain a U.S. security clearance.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
The successful candidate must have good analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex government regulations;
familiarity with EAR and ITAR regulations;
the ability to research and analyze technical parameters of a product or technology for research security and export controls;
the ability to conduct document review to determine whether information falls under the export control and/or research security regulations;
the ability to review regulatory language for export and research security compliance;
the ability to prepare licenses and develop processes;
the ability to perform internal assessments of export and import procedures;
the ability to determine the export control classification of items and technology;
the ability to file U.S. CBP Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system requests;
the ability to perform Visual Compliance screenings on required individuals/organizations;
the ability to implement Technology Control Plans.
Critical thinking and an excellent problem solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Azure experience
At least 2 years of experience in Windows system administration
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
CompTIA Security+ certification
Export Compliance Professional (ECoP®) Certification.
