About this Position
As part of a creative team, this position leads video strategy and supports communication efforts that engage prospective students and promote the university brand. Primary responsibilities include providing and creating content for admissions video needs, planning and executing video shoots, writing scripts, creating graphics, conducting interviews, and producing/editing video content to be used for recruitment purposes (web, email, events, social media, digital ads, etc.). The position will also create written content for prospective student email communication and support special initiatives and other duties as assigned by leadership. As a member of the Office of Undergraduate Admissions communications team, this position will support the university's enrollment management goals by contributing to communication, marketing, and outreach efforts to internal and external populations that include, prospective students, their families, high school and college counselors, and campus partners.
Required Qualifications
High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Five years of professional experience in multimedia, communications, marketing, and/or journalism including, but not limited to video, writing, web, editing, and content creation. Note: Years of post-secondary education will substitute for years of experience
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge: Experience with shooting and editing professional videos; experience using video cameras, tripod, microphones, and lights. Use of editing software such as Adobe Premiere. Strong writing and editing background (advertising copywriting preferred). Ability to lift 45 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field
Three years of progressive experience in new media, publications, marketing, or related tasks and projects which can include internships.
