About this Position

Perform patient care duties; recognize acute situations and determine priorities. Interview patient to obtain history related to presenting symptoms. Knowledge of emergency procedures, i.e. CPR, Heimlich, air way maintenance and seizure precautions. Assist practitioner in examination. Competent in administration of PO, ID, SQ, and IM medications; inhalation treatments and wound care. IV certification/training a plus. Capable of some independent action and decision making but works under supervision of an RN or practitioner. Instructs patient in how to safely continue treatment at home, management of any side-effects, recognition of complications, outcome of treatment, and recommended follow-up. Possibility of exposure to contagious diseases, medical waste, blood and body fluids, latex, etc. Ability to lift patients and some equipment.

Required Qualifications

  • Vocational/Technical (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • One year of clinical nursing experience.

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    Current Oklahoma LPN license and current/ valid CPR certification.

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    Ability to perform all assigned tasks under direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational/Technical
  • Three plus years experience preferred. IV certification/training is preferred. Will be expected to obtain after hire if not already certified.
