About this Position

This Lab Technologist position is stationed in the Soil, Water, Forage, Analytical Lab (SWFAL).

Duties include: 

  • Sample preparation, organization, analysis and disposal;     
  • Analyzing soil, water, plant and waste samples using ICP, Carbon-Nitrogen analyzer, Flow injection auto-analyzer;
  • Performing titration, pH and EC analysis with appropriate instruments;      
  • Performing routine instrument maintenance;
  • Maintaining analysis quality with internal and external QC samples;
  • Assisting other technicians with their duties and possibility in supervising part time technicians;
  • Assisting lab manager in lab operations and performing other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Two years related experience or two years post-secondary education. 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Soil Science, Chemistry, Biology, Agronomy or related
  • 1 year of related lab experience
