Who we are: Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OCES) Extension Educators are the "front door" to the University, providing a link between OSU and the people of the state in all 77 Oklahoma counties. The OCES represents a federal, state, and county partnership working since 1914. The mission of OCES is to disseminate information to the people of Oklahoma and encourage the adoption of research-generated knowledge. Extension Educators provide research-based information to clientele in the areas of agriculture, family and consumer sciences, 4-H youth development, and community and rural development.

Position Details: The district 4-H youth development program specialist will (1) provide leadership and support to county 4-H staff in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating 4-H Youth Development programs in the assigned district to ensure the quality of county and district 4-H programs; (2) provide professional development for county 4-H staff in the district; and (3) serve on statewide activities for 4-H program/curriculum areas as designated.
The 4-H District Program Specialist is a member of the assigned district under the supervision of the District Extension Director who will receive performance related input from the Assistant Director/State 4-H Program Leader. The 4-H District Program Specialist is also a member of the state 4-H team for program development. Programmatic leadership efforts are under the direction of the Assistant Director/State 4-H Program Leader and done in cooperation with other state 4-H faculty/staff. Due to communication expectations of the position, the incumbent will be required to maintain cellular or other electronic communication devices. The incumbent’s salary includes compensation to apply toward the use of their personal cellular device.
