About this Position

This position is a night/overnight shift. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining an orderly and clean facility. Cleans assigned areas to include offices, meeting rooms, public areas, hallways, stairs, escalators, restrooms, and retail shops. Cleaning is defined to include vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, hard floor maintenance, dusting, waxing, polishing office furniture and cleaning woodwork, empty trash, polish brass and office furniture. Utilizes assigned equipment and fills out work order forms detailing equipment and any other problems and any other conditions requiring maintenance. Cleaning outside of the Student Union including balconies, loading docks, entrances, parking garage, and garden terrace. Performs related duties as assigned and as the need arises. Maybe required to push, pull, lift, and/or carry up to 50 pounds. This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally. Promotional Opportunities may be available through an established career development plan.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Level I: no experience required 

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year experience in housekeeping, floor cleaning, tile/carpet upkeep, and/or wood surface cleaning.
