The Extension Communications Coordinator manages and executes integrated communications and marketing initiatives for the Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service (OSU Extension). Headquartered in the Office of Communications and Marketing for OSU Agriculture, this role reports to the Assistant Director of Communications and Marketing and works closely with the department’s Senior Director and the Associate Vice President of OSU Extension to elevate the visibility and impact of Extension across the OSU community, as well as statewide, regionally and nationally.
This position develops and implements strategic communications and marketing campaigns from initial concept through execution and evaluation, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and audience needs. Responsibilities include coordinating and developing digital content, creating audience strategy, proactively engaging with stakeholders and monitoring campaign performance. The role requires a collaborative, creative and deadline-driven individual capable of working across teams and with stakeholders statewide.
This highly visible, public-facing position requires strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as frequent engagement with internal and external audiences. The duty station is the OSU campus in Stillwater, with some travel required.

Agricultural communications, strategic communications, mass communication, journalism, marketing, graphic design, public relations or related field.
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)Three years of experience in communications and/or marketing. Strategic communications and marketing, writing, digital storytelling, graphic design or related skills.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Oklahoma driver's license or ability to obtain an Oklahoma driver's license within 30 days of hire. Duty reporting is in-person on the OSU campus in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
• Experience developing, coordinating and executing integrated communications and marketing campaigns and strategic initiatives across multiple platforms.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal interpersonal communications and presentation skills.
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills with proficiency in Associated Press style.
• Ability to develop, align and adapt content to meet wide ranging audience needs and proactively engage with stakeholders, including internal partners, community members and statewide audiences.
• Working knowledge of social media strategy, paid advertising and audience targeting best practices.
• Experience with email marketing platforms and development/distribution of digital newsletters.
• Ability to analyze campaign performance using reporting metrics and apply insights to improve outcomes.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across teams, departments and external partners.
• Experience working cross-functionally with creative and digital teams to develop digital content, including web, social media and print materials.
• Basic understanding of public relations and content development strategies to support organizational visibility.
• Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to learn quickly and adjust to changing priorities and communications needs.
• Working knowledge of branding principles, including voice, tone, visual identity and content consistency.
• Experience supporting event marketing efforts, including promotion, messaging and audience engagement strategies.
• Proficiency in graphic design/layout and familiarity with visual content creation tools.
• Experience with website content management and basic web editing.
• Familiarity with project management systems and workflow tools.
• Basic understanding of accessibility standards and inclusive communications practices across media platforms.
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud programs.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 programs.
• Knowledge of agriculture, communications and marketing, OSU Extension and the land-grant university structure is a plus.
