About this Position
Langston University is seeking a full-time assistant professor in the Department of Mathematics. The successful candidate will join a team committed to academic excellence, student success, and meaningful research engagement. The anticipated start date is Fall 2024.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester across a range of undergraduate mathematics courses

Advise and mentor undergraduate students

Pursue grants and external funding to strengthen departmental research and support student opportunities

Participate in departmental, school, and university committees and initiatives

Contribute to departmental planning and development

Maintain an active research agenda, preferably one that includes undergraduate student involvement

Integrate technology and current teaching methods into instructional delivery
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D./Ed.D.
- Mathematics or Statistics (ABD candidates will be considered)

Demonstrated potential or experience in college-level teaching
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
- Ability to teach courses such as linear and abstract algebra, statistics, geometry, calculus, and related subjects
Preferred Qualifications

Experience with online or hybrid teaching

Effective use of instructional technology

Interest in mentoring undergraduate research

Ability to engage and support students from underrepresented populations
