The Psychology Department is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to serve as the administrative support for graduate programs and departmental operations. This role functions as the department’s main purchaser, managing all supply, equipment, and furniture acquisitions through OK Corral and PCard transactions. The position also oversees textbook orders each semester for PSYC, SPCH, AMIS, and Tulsa courses, and coordinates honorariums, research participant gift cards, and travel arrangements for graduate students and external guests.
In addition to financial and procurement responsibilities, the role supports the daily operations of the front office, including reception, customer service, mail and package handling, key checkout, room reservations, and maintenance of departmental calendars and directories. The coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the Directors of Graduate Studies, Clinical Training, and Experimental Programs through data collection, record keeping, admissions assistance, alumni database management, and event logistics such as colloquia and guest visits. This position requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously, and a commitment to providing excellent service to faculty, students, and visitors. Occasional evening hours may be required to support departmental events, with adjusted work schedules as needed.
Must have customer service, office/clerical experience handling various administrative duties and productivity software, including Word, Excel, Outlook and Adobe. Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience.
Must have strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Outlook, Adobe, excellent interpersonal skills, detail oriented, follows instructions in a timely manner, and follow-up with projects.
high school diploma/GED and three years of experience
