About this Position

The Public Health Program at Langston University is seeking qualified adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate public health courses on a part-time, semester-by-semester basis. Adjunct faculty play an essential role in supporting quality instruction and fostering student learning within the program.

Primary Responsibilities

Teaching

  • Teach assigned undergraduate public health courses in accordance with approved course outlines, learning outcomes, and program standards
  • Deliver instruction using face-to-face, online, or hybrid modalities, as scheduled
  • Provide timely and meaningful feedback on student assignments and assessments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date course records, including grades and attendance

Student Support

  • Be accessible to students for course-related questions and academic support
  • Foster a positive, respectful, and engaging learning environment

Professional Expectations

  • Adhere to University and School academic policies and procedures
  • Submit required documentation (syllabi, grades, attendance, reports) by established deadlines
  • Communicate effectively with assigned faculty, program leadership, or the Dean regarding course needs or concerns

Workload & Schedule

Adjunct appointments are part-time and based on departmental instructional needs. Course assignments may vary by semester and are not guaranteed. Daytime, evening, and online course sections may be available.


Salary

Compensation is based on the number of credit hours assigned per semester.

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Public Health

(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

  • Experience with face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online instruction

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds and perspectives
  • Demonstrated professionalism and ability to meet instructional responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior teaching experience in higher education
