About this Position

The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music (GSM) seeks applications for four adjunct positions of Visiting Artist in Residence – Collaborative Piano with a start date of August 2026.

Responsibilities: 

Oklahoma State University invites applications for Collaborative Pianists in the Greenwood School of Music. This is a nine-month adjunct position (0.5 FTE) with a base salary to provide collaborative services for degree and faculty recitals and ensembles. Positions are available with focus areas in vocal/opera coaching and/or instrumental collaboration. Additional duties may include accompanying instrumental and vocal lessons, student juries, GSM auditions, masterclasses, and search candidate recitals, as well as other collaborative engagements within the Greenwood School of Music. This appointment is eligible for renewal. Workload expectation is 20 contact hours per week.

The Greenwood School of Music maintains an active performance environment with numerous recitals, ensemble performances, and guest artist events throughout the academic year. Collaborative pianists are valued members of the performance and instructional community and work closely with faculty and students in a collaborative, artist-centered environment. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic and evolving program while supporting the development of emerging musicians. Please note that this position does not include benefits.

About the Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music

The Michael and Anne Greenwood School of Music (GSM) has over 40 full-time faculty (of which 30 are tenured or in tenure-track positions), combined with a full-time professional staff of 9. There are approximately 300 students enrolled in degree programs that include the BA, BM, BS, and MM, with programs in music education, performance, music and music industry. The GSM, an all-Steinway institution, is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and  is housed in beautiful new facilities. Required Qualifications

  • Master's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Evidence of outstanding artistry.
  • Evidence of significant collaborative experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Other Professional Degree Doctor of Musical Arts
  • Experience or interest in vocal coaching.
