Join our team at OSU where you'll play a crucial role in ensuring tax compliance for our diverse community of foreign national employees and vendors. You'll work closely with various departments including Human Resources, the Office of International Students and Scholars, and Payroll Services. Your primary focus will be on ensuring adherence to tax regulations and optimizing efficiency in our processes.
Tax Compliance Setup and Management:
Handle the tax withholding setup process for newly onboarded foreign national employees, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Provide guidance on various employment tax matters for foreign national faculty and staff, including tax residency, FICA withholding, and W-4 compliance.
Manage and maintain the tax compliance system database, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in tracking employee tax-related information.
Tax Treaty Eligibility and Evaluation:
Determine tax treaty eligibility for a diverse range of individuals, including students, faculty, staff, guest speakers, and other entities.
Ensure accurate evaluation and application of tax treaties, facilitating smooth processes for eligible individuals.
Vendor Tax Compliance:
Assist in evaluating and withholding taxes for payments made to foreign national vendors, ensuring compliance with IRS regulations and relevant tax treaties.
Update processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy in vendor tax compliance procedures.
IRS Forms Preparation and Filing:
Assist with the preparation and filing of appropriate IRS forms related to foreign national tax withholding and tax treaty benefits, ensuring timely submission and adherence to regulatory requirements.
Training and Education Initiatives:
Facilitate training sessions to educate applicable parties on policies and procedures regarding foreign national tax issues, fostering awareness and compliance throughout campus.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's
Accounting or Business degree
(degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

IRS regulations about non-resident alien tax issues.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
IRS Acceptance Agent (AA)
IRS Certified Acceptance Agent (CAA)
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Knowledge of visa category types required under U.S. immigration law.
