About this Position This is a Temporary role with our Facilities team.
Building alterations and renovations. Lay out new walls, ceilings, doors, cabinets and floors. Frame and repair walls to include wood, metal and masonry. Install new ceilings, sheetrock, door jambs, bulletin boards, coat racks, etc. Install new cabinets, lay floor tile, carpet or vinyl base. Install counter tops, windows, and storm windows.
The incumbent may be required to provide their own basic hand tools and maintain them in good working condition.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed-upon start date)
At least four years of experience in general framing, interior framing, drywall, finish carpentry, cabinet making, concrete finishing, etc.; or
Two years of post-secondary education in the building trades or technical field with two years of the above experience in a University, commercial or industrial building maintenance organization.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver's license. A valid driver's license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
The person in this position frequently communicates with customers and coworkers who have inquiries about work and must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
Ability to become proficient in the use of "AiM" Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software and the use of mobile technology.
Must work safely and promote a safe environment.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:
Two years of post-secondary education in the building trades with three years of prior successful work experience in general framing, interior framing, drywall, finish carpentry, cabinet making, concrete finishing in the building trades or technical field at a university, commercial, or industrial building maintenance organization.
