About this Position
The Student Success Specialist is responsible for providing comprehensive academic advising, career exploration, and student support services for online learners while leading retention, persistence, and completion initiatives for all NEO students. Through proactive outreach, data-informed interventions, personalized success planning, and career coaching, the Student Success Specialist helps students identify academic and career pathways, overcome barriers to success, prepare for employment opportunities, and achieve their educational and professional goals.
The Student Success Specialist serves as a primary advocate for online students and collaborates with faculty, staff, and campus departments to promote student success from enrollment through completion and career readiness. This position monitors student progress, coordinates retention and engagement efforts, provides individualized academic and career guidance, assists students with career exploration and job search strategies, and contributes to institutional initiatives designed to improve student persistence, completion, transfer, employment outcomes, and overall student success.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge: - Excellent oral and written communication skills; organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Must have strong computer skills in Microsoft Office (i.e. word processing, excel and database applications as well as on-line abilities).
- Must have the ability to organize daily work procedures and perform diversified, detailed tasks.
- Must have the ability to perform responsibilities under own initiative with minimal supervision and operate under time constraints.
