About this Position
GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Student Success and Career Advisor will provide academic advisement and career guidance to students across the School of Technology, Arts, Sciences & Health (STASH). This position requires working closely with faculty and staff to provide support to students as they navigate through the educational process and job placement. The priority for this position is to ensure quality, consistent student support that will prepare and sustain a student body as competitive members of a world-class workforce and contributing members of society. A focus on student well-being and enrollment, persistence and graduation trends is essential.
Required Qualifications
Education:
Associate's (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date).
Experience:
Minimum of two years’ work experience in a higher education setting, preferably in an advisement capacity.
Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-centered environment.
Experience working in collaborative, team-oriented environments and in positions that require individualized work with minimal supervision.
Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
A valid driver's license is required if performing the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.

Communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information.

Utilize interpersonal skills to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
Assist students passionately with educational endeavors and representing the OSUIT brand with positivity and professionalism.
Evidences a history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
Proficiency with customer relation management software (e.g., Banner, Degree Works, Slate) and Microsoft Office Suite highly desirable.
