About us: The Department of Entomology & Plant Pathology is comprised of 24 faculty with expertise in insects and plants. We have 10 administrative and research support staff, more than 30 graduate students are advised by Entomology & Plant Pathology faculty and we serve over 50 undergraduate students. The Department of Entomology & Plant Pathology is seeking a Senior Research Specialist II. The work duties involve field, laboratory, and greenhouse research including all aspects of the research process with the scientific supervisor. Important aspects of this position will include but not limited to setting up plot plans, planting, harvesting, data collection, operate equipment, and genotyping. Preference will be given to those with experience in peanut and other cropping systems as well as basic knowledge of DNA extraction. This position will coordinate field research projects with departmental faculty and USDA scientists.

At least five years of experience of collecting biological samples; and keeping detailed records of experimental data; and performing routine molecular biology techniques using a variety of specialized equipment such as PCR, etc. OR Successful completion of master's degree in field directly related to the duties of the position
Valid driver's license; Pesticide Applicator License (optional)
Proficient in data organization software, preparing and interpreting research reports, and knowledge in statistical analysis software.
At least 5 years of experience of collecting biological samples; and keeping detailed records of experimental data; and/or performing routine molecular biology techniques using a variety of specialized equipment such as PCR, etc. or successful completion of one full year of PhD level education directly related to the duties of the position.

Preferred skills in preparing, writing, and completing peer reviewed manuscripts. Proficient in data organization software, preparing and interpreting research reports, and knowledge in statistical analysis software. Knowledge in advanced data analysis tools.
