Position Details

  • Position Title: Anatomic Pathology Resident
  • Appointment Type: Full-Time, annually renewed for up to 3 years
  • Start Date: July 31, 2027
  • Location: In-Person
  • Salary: $50,000 annually plus a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and fringe benefits

Residents will engage with extensive and varied diagnostic case material from the Oklahoma Animal Disease Diagnostic Laboratory (OADDL) and will have access to abundant archived material for ACVP board preparation.

Concurrent enrollment in a graduate degree program is optional.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Participation in pathology diagnostic services
    • necropsy and biopsy service duties
  • Preparation of case reports and diagnostic interpretations
  • Case communication with clinicians and clients
  • Participation in rounds, seminars, case presentations, and teaching activities
  • Participation in oral and written scholarship
  • Independent study and board preparation activities

Travel Requirements

Travel to professional meetings and educational activities may be required as approved by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Required qualifications include:

  • DVM or equivalent veterinary degree (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date).
  • Eligibility for veterinary licensure if required by the institution
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
