About this Position
The Program Specialist supports the daily operations of assistive technology (AT) loan and demo programs by managing communications, inventory, and specialized AT distribution initiatives. Key responsibilities include responding to borrower inquiries, processing extensions and invoices, maintaining accountable inventory systems, and coordinating annual checks. The role also oversees AT acquisition activities including, but not limited to iPad vending programs, ensuring proper documentation, budgeting, and reimbursement. Participates in the vetting process of new grant or contract considerations for programmatic planning and feasibility. The Program Specialist oversees student employee needs, including identified needs, recruitment, training, and scheduling to meet program needs.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
- Four years of work experience
- Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience
- Bachelor's
Education, Human Development, Engineering, Accessibility, Business, or a related field

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:
General knowledge of assistive technology (ex. Hearing; daily living; learning, cognition, development, etc.); familiarity with accessible web and non-web principles and techniques; knowledge of ethical and professional best practices; strong communication and collaboration skills; strong computer, writing, and organizational skills; familiarity with laws and state statutes including the Assistive Technology Act, Information and Communication Technology (ICT) accessibility policy such as Oklahoma's Electronic and Information Technology Accessibility statute, Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and broader civil rights legislation (ADA, Rehabilitation Act)
