Post-Doctoral Fellow

Oklahoma State University – Stillwater, Oklahoma

The Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at Oklahoma State University invites applications for the position of Post-doctoral Fellow.

Position Description

This Post-Doctoral Fellow will manage and analyze data collected from multiple on-farm precision agriculture trials across several states. The project is jointly led by the soil fertility program at Oklahoma State University and the USDA-ARS research unit in Temple, TX.

The position will be based at the ARS facility in Temple, TX.

The candidate will be responsible for organizing, documenting, and maintaining project datasets, as well as conducting statistical analysis and interpretation. The candidate will also prepare manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals and present results at scientific meetings as directed by project leadership.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Agricultural Science
  • Previous experience working in field research setting
  • Knowledge of data base management and statistical software
  • Knowledge of application and management of precision agriculture field research and agronomic production
  • Attention to detail and strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary group
  • Familiarity with precision agriculture technologies and practices

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Agronomy, Soil Fertility, Precision Agriculture, Biosystems Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience in working with agronomic data
  • Experience with statistical analysis
  • Proficiency in writing for agronomic journals
  • Knowledge of SAS, R, or Python
  • Knowledge of precision agriculture technologies and practices

Employment Conditions

Post-doctoral appointments are 11-month full-time temporary faculty positions. Eleven-month appointments are from July 1 to May 31 with June being the off (unpaid) month. Reappointment for a total period of not more than three years may be made. The position will be filled by July 1, 2026 or as soon thereafter as an acceptable applicant is available.
