Special Instructions to Applicants

About this Position

Performs venipunctures, arterial punctures, and capillary sampling to obtain blood samples for laboratory testing. Collects urine sample for analysis. Documents collection and processed specimens effectively. Supports the general operations of the Laboratory. Enters orders for testing and accessions specimens in the computer system.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED

    High School Diploma or GED.

    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • 6 months related phlebotomy experience with children newborn to age 18.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

  • Valid Oklahoma Driver’s License.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Skill in delivery of patient care and procedures; phlebotomy, sample collection, and direct patient care. 
  • Knowledge of medical terminology. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
  • Computer literacy required. 
  • Ability to learn new processes, tools, and equipment as required.

Preferred Qualifications

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

  •   Phlebotomy Certification

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Bilingual
