About this Position

Performs payroll data processing functions in accordance with institutional policies and state and federal regulations. Reviews, processes, and documents bi-weekly payroll adjustments and employee record changes in Banner for OSU and A&Ms, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely completion. Prepares and reviews payroll upload spreadsheets and supporting documentation and communicates discrepancies or compliance issues with payroll staff and departmental partners.  Manages highly confidential employee and compensation data, ensuring compliance with data privacy, retention, and audit standards. Maintains employee job records and deductions and submits required payroll and employment data to state and federal agencies. Provides guidance and information to employees, departments, and payroll staff, and supports audit and reporting requirements as needed. Maintains knowledge of payroll deadlines and schedules.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Two years of general office/clerical experience.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Strong data entry skills. Strong work ethic and ability to work as part of a team. Ability to communicate professionally with a variety of personalities and skill levels. Ability to recognize when documentation should be created or requested. Ability to multi-task and prioritize job responsibilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Vocational/Technical

    Computer, Accounting and/or Payroll.

  • One year or more of experience working with Payroll and/or payroll processing. Knowledge of Banner HR EPAFs. General knowledge of Payroll Services forms and guides.
