Open Rank Professor of Clinical Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Oklahoma State University invites applications for a tenure-track or tenured Professor of Clinical Psychology at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with a start date of August 2027. We are open to candidates in any area of clinical psychology but are particularly interested in candidates with specialties in Clinical Child Psychology, Pediatric Psychology, and Behavioral Medicine/Health Psychology.

Responsibilities:

Candidates are expected to have a strong background in and dedication to scholarly activity, excellent teaching and mentoring, and collegial engagement with faculty, staff, and students. They must also demonstrate the capacity to maintain a high-quality research program leading to scholarly productivity in the form of professional publications, presentations, and grantsmanship. Candidates will be expected to serve as research mentors for doctoral students, supervise undergraduate research, provide high-quality classroom instruction in both graduate and undergraduate courses, participate in our APA- and PCSAS-accredited PhD program in Clinical Psychology, and provide service to the department, college, and university.

About the Department of Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Oklahoma State University is committed to research, teaching, and outreach. The Department currently houses 22 tenured/tenure-track and 11 career-track full-time faculty and offers undergraduate programs in Psychology and Graduate programs in Clinical and Experimental Psychology. The Clinical Program, continuously APA-accredited since 1971 and PCSAS-accredited since 2018, is based on a clinical science model of training, and has subspecialties in Clinical Child, Pediatric Psychology, Health/Behavioral Medicine, and Adult Psychopathology. The Department is also home to the Center for Pediatric Psychology (https://cas.okstate.edu/psychology/center_for_pediatric_psychology), reflecting OSU’s 30+year history of dedication to training clinical psychology graduate students wishing to specialize in the field of pediatric psychology. The Experimental Program has concentrations in Developmental, Comparative-Neurobiological, Cognitive, and Social-Personality Psychology. The Department oversees and supports a large student body of approximately 50 doctoral students and 1300 undergraduate majors. Several of our current faculty maintain active research and training collaborations at both the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City and the OSU College of Medicine in Tulsa, offering rich opportunities for access to medical specialty populations and collaborations. Additionally, OSU Stillwater, OSU College of Medicine, and OSU Tulsa partnered to host the interdisciplinary OSU Brain Initiative (https://tulsa.okstate.edu/brain-initiative) in Tulsa, OK, where the most advanced MRI system in the state is located, OSU Biomedical Imaging Center at the Hardesty Center for Clinical Research and Neuroscience: https://osumedicine.com/location/biomedical-imaging-center/. Required Qualifications

• PhD in Clinical Psychology from an APA- or PCSAS-accredited clinical psychology program (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date).
• Completion of an APA-approved (or equivalent) clinical psychology internship.
• Evidence of high-quality research with a trajectory of building a national profile.
• Evidence of ability to effectively mentor and collaborate with students and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications

• Evidence of successful college or university-level teaching and/or mentorship.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

• License eligible as a psychologist in Oklahoma.
