About this Position

The Lead for the Center for Health Sciences Security Department Tahlequah is responsible for the day-to-day leadership and supervision of security officers, ensuring that all security operations are carried out efficiently and in alignment with the university’s safety and security protocols. The Lead will act as the primary point of contact for officers on duty, providing guidance, training, and support, as well as coordinating responses to incidents. This role will collaborate closely with the Operations Captain and other security personnel to maintain a safe and secure environment across campus.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Two years of experience in a related field.

Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

  • Basic Life Support/CPR 
  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license
  • Current Oklahoma CLEET License in: Phase 1 (Basic), Phase 2 (Officer) 
  • FTO Certified

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Knowledge of security operations, surveillance systems, and emergency response protocols. Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills. Ability to work effectively under pressure in emergency situations. Certification in first aid, and/or other relevant emergency response areas, preferred.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two years employment as a security officer with Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

Security field training operations, Omnigo tracking system, Clery reporting, Milestone and Verkada camera technology
