About this Position

Provide services to prospective, incoming, currently enrolled sponsored students and scholars and those on work authorization after graduation including consultation on visa regulations, expectations of sponsor contracts and academics. Coordination of Sponsored Students and Scholars Program. Maintain working relationships and communications with sponsoring agencies, embassies, companies, and individuals (sponsors). Detailed explanation to sponsored students about legal matters, financial issues, academic concerns, health and insurance problems, university policies and procedures other matters of relevance. Play a critical role in doubling the number of sponsored students.  Oversee semester invoicing (of sponsored students) to sponsoring agencies for tuition & fees & appropriate associated expenses. All other related duties as assigned. 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's

    Business/ Education/ Intl' Studies/ Social Sciences/ Humanities/ or related field.

    (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Three years' work-related experience, intercultural communications, computer proficiency with Microsoft, digital delivery system experience (i.e. Banner/Slate/etc.), student services experience, American university system experience, budgetary experience, grants/contracts experience.

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    Designated School Official (DSO) (after hire) State Dept Alternate Responsible Officer (ARO) (after hire)

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    Work well with International Students, tactful communicator. Sensitivity to cultural issues and differences, accuracy, attention to detail, strong organizer, leadership ability, respectful to chain of command, rules and regulation follower, problem solving ability, reliable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's

    International Studies/ Social Sciences /Humanities /Business /Education /Counseling /Related field.

  • International work abroad (outside of USA) / Immigration Officer / English Language Institute-ESL office experience, Student Services office experience.

  • Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    Responsible Officer, Primary Designated School Official.

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    Proficiency in a foreign language. Extensive knowledge of F-1 and J-1 immigration regulations. Experience in student recruitment.
