Maintain Utilities Production microprocessor-based controls systems. Act as liaison between the Utilities Production and Facilities Management IT department to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
Responsible for UTIL Production facilities data management.
Install, maintain, repair, overhaul, calibrate, and test a wide variety of industrial instrumentation that records indicates controls and regulates level flow pressure temperature and position.
Responsible for preventative, routine, and reactive maintenance of all chilled water, steam, and domestic water production equipment, such as chillers, boilers, air compressors, VFD’s, filters, and cooling towers.
Employee in this position is required to work an 8-hour shift Monday through Friday, and to work overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays.
Work takes place in a clean thermal plant with exposure to industrial machinery, rotating equipment, high voltage electrical service, hot steam, chemicals and noise.
Occasional moving about, including ascending/descending stairs or ladders, is required to accomplish work, as well as remaining in a stationary position for an extended period of time, and working in small spaces and activity areas.
This position is heavy in manual labor and requires the physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and in excess of 50 pounds occasionally.
Employee must use appropriate personal protective equipment as required (hard hat, vest, gloves, safety glasses, etc.). These items are provided and are not for personal use.

Five years of experience with PCs, customer relations, work control/call-in systems, metering and control systems, and /or Physical Plant Work.
Up to two years of post-secondary education may be substituted for up to two years of work experience.
Have before hire and maintain after hire, a valid driver’s license. A valid driver’s license must be maintained for the operation of an OSU vehicle, which is required in the performance of job duties as assigned.
Have or acquire within 12-months after hire an EPA Refrigerant Handler Type II certification.
Skill and ability to troubleshoot and adjust programming for SCADA and PLC software; inspect, test, repair and install industrial instrumentation and controls according to established procedures and standards; read instruments accurately; and work from and interpret wiring and mechanical drawings.
Ability to become proficient in the use of “AiM” Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) software and the use of mobile technology.
Must work safely, adhere to all safety requirements, and promote a safe work environment.
Mechanical/Electrical
Three years of industrial mechanic work experience, preferably with rotating equipment and boilers, meters, PLC controls and variable-frequency drives.
