About this Position

Talent Development and Recruitment within University Human Resources is a team of enthusiastic, hard-working, fun professionals dedicated to sourcing, attracting, recruiting and developing members of the Cowboy family. This team member will assist with the application and administrative processes of the OSU jobs system. The role requires strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to assist others via telephone, email, virtual platforms and in person.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to general inquiries from departmental staff, employees, and applicants
  • Research solutions and provide accurate, timely information
  • Review and post job vacancies online
  • Administer the background check program and complete new‑hire screenings
  • Verify the accuracy and currency of job descriptions
  • Review offer letters for completeness and compliance
  • Provide exceptional customer service and administrative support related to the OSU Jobs System
  • Assist with various additional projects as needed

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Human Resources Assistant - two years of clerical/customer service experience.

    Human Resources Assistant II - two years of experience in human resources or technical systems.

    Human Resources Associate - four years of experience in human resources or technical systems OR
    Bachelor's degree in related field and one year of experience OR unrelated Bachelor's degree and two years of related experience.

    Sr Human Resources Associate - six years of experience in human resources or technical systems OR
    Bachelor's degree in related field and two years of related experience.

    Post-secondary education may be substituted for experience.

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    The person in this position frequently communicates with customers and must have the ability to effectively exchange accurate information to provide excellent customer service.

    Requires strong typing and computer skills with demonstrated competency in Microsoft Office packages including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

    Excellent people skills with proven ability to work in a close team environment and ability to adapt to frequent changes.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's
  • Four years of experience in human resources.
