About this Position

GENERAL SUMMARY: 

The Facilities and eSports Assistant is charged with assisting in the supervision of evening Covelle Hall student workers, and eSports Arena student workers, and/or the physical performance of said duties in the absence of evening workers.

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.

Experience:

  • Proven history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
  • Two years’ responsible health/wellness and/or gaming-related work experience.
  • Knowledge of the realm of eSports, including knowledge on multiple platforms, eSports event functions, and gaming culture.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

    • Valid Oklahoma driver’s license will be required if performing the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.
    • CPR preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Must be able to interact comfortably and effectively with a diverse client population.
  • Must be able to effectively contribute in a dynamic, team environment.
  • A positive “can-do” attitude along with a professional appearance and demeanor should be modeled at all times.
  • Should be able to quickly grasp and apply training in learning new skills and methods.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, recommend and implement solutions in a timely fashion.
  • Computer skills to include word processing, spreadsheets, project management, electronic communications, Discord and other gaming platforms, and an understanding of web technologies.  
  • Proven organizational skills, be neat in appearance, the ability to communicate with distinction both orally and in writing.
  • Must be flexible, innovative and self-motivated. 

Communication Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communications skills required. 
  • Excellent listening, customer service and problem solving skills are essential, continually incorporating feedback, ideas and requests.
