About this Position
The MCS Operations Coordinator provides operational leadership for Meeting & Conference Services. This position manages the daily operations, personnel, and service delivery systems supporting meetings, conferences, and special events within the Student Union facilities. The Coordinator directs and supervises the full-time Event Specialist and multiple student staff classifications, ensuring consistent service standards, operational readiness, and compliance with University policies.
The position exercises independent judgment in staffing, performance management, policy implementation, and operational decision-making. Responsibilities include developing and enforcing operational procedures, establishing training frameworks, overseeing equipment and facility resource management, and coordinating cross-departmental partnerships to support complex and high-profile events. In the absence of the MCS Manager, the Coordinator exercises delegated authority related to event service operations within the Student Union.
While the role maintains familiarity with event support functions and may provide limited direct assistance during peak operational demand, the primary responsibility of this position is the leadership, supervision, and management of personnel, systems, and operational resources for Student Union event services.
