About this Position

GENERAL SUMMARY:

The Enrollment Counselor is responsible for the recruitment and coordination of enrollment management activities for various markets for students enrolling in OSU Polytech programs. The Enrollment Counselor reviews all information provided by students to determine eligibility for admission and enrollment to OSUIT and serves as a point of contact to assist students with the financial aid process. Located at the OSU-Tulsa campus, this position requires working closely with OSUIT faculty and staff to provide support to students as they navigate through the educational process and job placement. The priority for this position is to ensure quality and consistent student support. This ensures student success from recruitment to graduation in accordance with the goals in the OSUIT and OSU Polytech strategic plans. 

Required Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor degree from an accredited college or university required.  Other combinations of education and experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

Experience:

  • Minimum of two years’ work experience in a higher education setting, preferably in an advisement or recruitment capacity.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-centered environment.
  • Experience working in collaborative, team-oriented environments and in positions that require individualized work with minimal supervision.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

  • Valid Oklahoma driver's license is required if performing the functions of the position requires the use of a personal or university vehicle.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Communicate diplomatically, clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing to exchange information.
  • Demonstrate problem solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Work with attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate ability to coordinate, plan and organize.
  • Manage multiple priorities imposed by frequent deadlines, peak workloads, and public/student contact.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment while effectively managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Utilize interpersonal skills to work and communicate effectively with all students, faculty, staff and community partners.
  • Assist students passionately with educational endeavors and represent the OSUIT and Polytech brands with positivity and professionalism.
  • Proven history of demonstrating ethical and professional behavior.
  • Proficiency with customer relation management software (e.g., Banner, Degree Works, Slate) and Microsoft Office Suite highly desirable.
