About this Position

The Collaborative Care Behavioral Health Care Manager (BHCM) is an integral member of the interdisciplinary primary care team within the Family Medicine Clinics at Oklahoma State University College of Health Sciences. The BHCM provides population-based behavioral health care as part of an evidence-based Collaborative Care Model, working closely with primary care physicians, advanced practice providers, consulting psychiatrists, psychologists, and other members of the care team.

The BHCM supports patients with behavioral health conditions commonly encountered in primary care, including depression, anxiety, substance use concerns, adjustment disorders, and other behavioral or psychosocial needs. The position emphasizes proactive outreach, measurement-based care, patient engagement, care coordination, brief behavioral interventions, and systematic follow-up.

The BHCM will help integrate behavioral health into routine primary care while supporting the educational mission of Oklahoma State University College of Health Sciences. The individual in this role may participate in the education and supervision of medical students, residents, and other health professions learners as appropriate.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's

    Social work, counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, or a related behavioral health discipline from an appropriately accredited program. (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

  • Experience providing behavioral health services in outpatient, primary care, community health, or integrated care settings.

Certifications, Registrations, and/or Licenses:

  • Appropriate clinical licensure or certification for the professional discipline in the State of Oklahoma, as applicable.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong clinical assessment, communication, care coordination, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based behavioral health interventions and measurement-based care.
  • Ability to effectively use electronic health records and clinical information systems.
  • Demonstrated commitment to patient-centered, culturally responsive, and equitable care.
