About this Position

The Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences, Oklahoma State University (OSU) College of Veterinary Medicine (CVM) invites applications for a full-time career-track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor in Production Animal Ambulatory Medicine and Extension Services.

If you have a passion for training the next generation of large and mixed-animal veterinarians, providing service to rural communities and envisioning new and creative ways how to improve access to veterinary care in rural communities, this is the position for you.

Responsibilities will include clinical teaching and clinical service as part of the Production Animal Ambulatory Service of the Veterinary Medical Teaching Hospital, herd health visits, disease investigations, production animal extension activities, and didactic lectures and laboratory instruction for veterinary students. The OSU CVM has an established production animal ambulatory case load with excellent opportunities for growth, as well as a robust beef cattle extension and continuing education program.

Applicants must have a DVM or equivalent veterinary degree and a minimum of five years of experience in production animal practice. A graduate degree in a related field or residency training in preventive veterinary medicine or food animal practice and certification by the American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine (ACVPM) or American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP) is considered an asset. Candidates qualified to take the ACVPM or ABVP certification examination are encouraged to apply. Interest and clinical experience in routine food animal medicine, surgery, and theriogenology is desirable. Eligibility for faculty licensure in Oklahoma and the ability to obtain an Oklahoma driver’s license is required.  Candidates certified by comparable EBVS recognized Colleges are encouraged to apply.

This is a full-time career-track position with an excellent benefits package, 4 weeks of vacation, and an equipped office. Funding support for professional development is provided. Salary and professional rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience, including consideration of previous accomplishments towards future promotions.

Required Qualifications
