About this Position

Tenure-track, Full-Time Faculty Position at OSU-CHS, Tulsa, OK.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to join an integrated, innovative, learner-centered academic program. Duties of an assistant professor include research, teaching (medical and graduate courses), and service/outreach. Competitive start-up funding is available.

Reporting Responsibility: Reports directly to the Chair of the Department of Pharmacology
and Physiology for Reappointment, Promotion, and Tenure (RPT).

Required Qualifications

• Ph.D./Ed.D.
  • Ph.D. in neuroscience, pharmacology or a related discipline is required
  • Postdoctoral experience in the relevant discipline is also required
  (degree must be conferred on or before agreed-upon start date)

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

• Real-world therapeutic impact, whether through pre-clinical models and pharmacology, studies of human tissues and biomarkers, or direct investigation in human participants.
• The successful candidate will be well suited to build their program utilizing the new OSU-CHS vivarium, OSU Biomedical Imaging Center (e.g., fMRI, TMS, fNIRS, EEG), and future OSU Bioincubator and Clinical Research Hub, leveraging CHS’ infrastructure to accelerate the translation of basic findings into candidate interventions.
• Scientists whose work intersects with OSU-CHS strategic priorities in childhood adversity, addiction and motivated behaviors, and the development of novel therapeutics, and who are eager to grow collaborations across preclinical and clinical domains.
• Candidates at all career stages are encouraged to apply, and we especially welcome those whose research vision emphasizes interdisciplinary partnership and a clear path toward improving human health.
• Translational neuroscience, neuropharmacology, neural basis of substance abuse, neuroinflammation, or neurotoxicology.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills are preferred to facilitate
  interactions with faculty, students, and administration.
• Ability to perform in a collegial and professional manner.

Preferred Qualifications

• • History of securing extramural funding preferred.
