About this Position
Manage front desk and serve as first point of contact and general information/referral source for the Watson Family Center for Student Development, an office of Academic Programs and Student Services within the College of Education and Human Sciences. Assist students and public coming into office and direct them accordingly. Support the Director of Recruitment and Retention and the recruitment and retention coordinators with scheduling, event and activity planning, developing reports and communications, purchasing supplies and equipment, and special projects. Take on delegated tasks as needed. Prepare, monitor, and process personnel, payroll, travel, inventory, and vendor/contractor forms. Perform various other duties as assigned to ensure smooth operations within unit and to assist students/university community.
Required Qualifications
- High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)

Must have five years customer service and clerical experience in an administrative office. Must have computer experience with MS applications, including proficiency with MS Word, Excel and Outlook. General knowledge of OSU policy and procedures.
Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.

Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge: Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for interacting with a culturally diverse population of students, staff, and university constituents with a professional and conscientious attitude. Having a professional and positive personality for students and public contacts is a must. Ability to work independently to initiate/coordinate projects, organize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and follow through to completion. Ability to handle confidential information and personnel matters professionally is important, as well as anticipating problems and trouble-shooting problem areas for administration, staff, students and faculty. Demonstrate communication skills both orally and written.
