About this Position

The Administrative Assistant for the Department of Microbiology & Molecular Genetics at Oklahoma State University is one who provides comprehensive administrative, payroll, purchasing, travel, facilities, academic, and departmental support to ensure efficient operations. This individual is a crucial member of the department and serves as a liaison to the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Business Operations team and the dean’s office.

Required Qualifications

  • High School/GED (degree must be conferred on or before agreed upon start date)
  • Five years of experience. Post-secondary education may substitute for years of required experience.

  • Skills, Proficiencies, and/or Knowledge:

    • Ability to operate general office equipment; proficiency with Microsoft Office.

    • Strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.

    • Excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with OSU accounts payable and financial procedures preferred.
