About this Position

This position serves the Honors College at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, OK. The Honors College is student-centered and values the significance of academic advising in student success. Honors academic advisors guide honors students through their academic career and serve as a referral agent for students’ other needs, providing holistic guidance to students as they progress through their college career. This position will advise undergraduate students in The Honors College.

In addition to the advising role, 20% of this position will include, under the direction of the Dean, assisting with K-12 outreach and programming. Some events will be on evenings and weekends.

  • A minimum 3.50 undergraduate cumulative GPA. Participation in an honors program or college as a student. Honors award, certificate, and/or degree from an institution affiliated with the National Collegiate Honors Council. Recognition of scholarly quality by election to Phi Kappa Phi or Phi Beta Kappa. Background in K-12 STEM outreach and programming in an academic setting. In addition to these proven administrative skills, candidates should possess an established record of promoting ethical behavior and social responsibility, and a demonstrated capacity to work effectively with culturally diverse students, staff, and faculty.
